I'm delighted to announce the Tri Talking Sport Facebook Live Schedule for Bike Week, we have a great line up of guests covering many aspects of exploration and adventure on two wheels. With so many disciplines of cycling to choose from we have selected a few to whet your appetite and help to ignite and indeed fuel your passion for the sport.
Our first live show this Tuesday night at 8pm features a panel of endurance cycling enthusiasts. Karen Cassidy is a triathlete and cyclist, a member of Galway Triathlon Club and fellow member of the Galway Baybes endurance racing team who hold the current Irish record for the Race Around Ireland (2017) and race record for the Donegal Ultra 555k ( 2018). She had major back surgery in 2018 and has come back stronger than before with a glint in her eye for more endurance cycling events as a solo rider and as part of the Galway Baybes team.
Noel Cusack from Clare spends more time on two wheels than two feet these days as he prepares for his 8th Ultra race this weekend at the Joe Barr 500 in Derry, building towards the Race Around Ireland Ultra 2021. He has both cycled and crewed his way around many roads in Ireland and beyond and will share great insight to his adventures both on and off the bike.
Alan Heary is a name synonymous with Ultra Endurance Cycling in Ireland, the High Performance coach has taken part in the world's toughest cycling race, Race Across America and is the founder and owner of the Race Around Ireland, the award-winning ultra-cycling event, which has been given the accolade of one of the toughest cycling events in the world. His interest in human performance, in sport and especially cycling is infectious, his insight and expertise across the sport of endurance cycling on the night will be fascinating.
Wednesday night at 8:30pm Imogen Cotter from Clare will join me live from Belgium where she is following her passion for cycling in pursuit of her career as a professional rider. She has always had an interest in sport excelling in triathlon and running before her love of cycling took hold. Now, chasing, breaking and leading the pack in road racing she is excelling at mastering her craft on two wheels.
Thursday night also at 8:30pm, sees Eoghan Clifford and Padraig Marrey join the live show to chat about their lives in the fast lane. Eoghan a member of Galway Bay Cycling Club, is a four time paracycling World Champion and two-time World Championship Bronze medallist, he has also won gold and bronze in cycling at the 2016 Rio Paralympics and won races at National and International level in able-bodied and paracycling events.
Padraig Marrey, Chairman of Western Lakes Cycling Club is a Cycling Ireland Coach and Bike tutor who has tried his hand successfully at many disciplines of biking and racing from road, endurance, trail and mountain biking he is also a triathlete and avid adventure racer with a string of successes to his name as a bike rider. The banter and bike chat between these two should be lively, insightful and entertaining.
