We have just hit the milestone of 25 episodes of the podcast, Yipeee!!! We are slightly ahead of our planned schedule as I scramble to get a show out every week for the foreseeable future trying to stay busy and keep active whilst staying at home. So much has happened in sport and beyond since last week with the COVID19 situation changing daily it’s hard to keep track of it all.
We do know that we won’t be racing at any triathlon events for the next few weeks until at least June 30th in Ireland or the UK and that many events and organisers are now offering virtual options and opportunities for athletes to remain focused and fit whilst we fight the pandemic by staying apart.
In this week’s episode I chat with Cillian Moffat from Dublin who ditched his hurley in exchange for a racing bike and has embraced a new way of life as an endurance athlete. The 28 year old has enjoyed some superb success since 2014 having raced at the IRONMAN World Championships, IRONMAN 70.3 World Championships and Challenge The Championship in 2017. With great plans to pursue his new dream of racing professionally, injury has prevented him from realising that dream to date but he is firmly focused on achieving that goal.
Cillian gives some helpful tips for getting things done, staying motivated and positive in the face of a crisis, whether that’s the global pandemic we are currently facing or an injury you are battling that is driving you mad. For such a young man, he has a very strong and wise head on his shoulders with plenty of advice and insight for those chasing their own sporting dreams.
