Haley Chura: From Accounting to Professional Athlete

I can't believe this is the 15th episode of the show, we have had such an amazing wealth of people already on the show, I can't wait to see how the next 15 episodes unfold.

Our guest this week is Haley Chura, a professional athlete based in Bozeman, Montana in the USA. She is cohost of the popular IronWomen Podcast with Alyssa Godesky and was the MC of the Outspoken Summit in Tempe Arizona where I finally got to meet her.

Haley is an Ironman and 70.3 Ironman Champion, a champion collegiate swimmer, she competed in the Olympic Swim Trials in 2004 and 2008. Turning her back on her accountancy career, she has pursued life as a professional triathlete since 2013. She spent two years chasing a Kona dream but a crash in 2015, 20 days out from her IRONMAN World Championships knocked her down and out of competition for a while but she has returned to racing, fitter, stronger, with a can-do and will do attitude and sense of gratitude that has seen her deliver some of the best results of her professional career to date.

We chat about her career as an athlete as well as her interest in the promotion and empowerment of female athletes. We also take some time to chat about the Outspoken Summit which for both of us, based on our excitement after, felt it was very insightful, informative, educational and a whole lot of fun!

The episode is a little longer than normal but filled with nuggets of information and of course has more details on the 12 Days of Christmas Challenge which you can still sign up to HERE.

Listen to the episode HERE, if you are enjoying the podcast, please take a few minutes to give us a review on apple podcasts or on the Tri Talking Sport Facebook Page I'd love to hear from you!

Thanks as always for tuning in!
