Tri Talking Sport and Inside Tri Show have teamed up to bring you a brand new live breakfast show ‘The Tri Commute,’ kicking off the very first show this Friday 26th February at 7:30 am GMT. Podcast hosts Joanne Murphy and Helen Murray aim to brighten up your breakfast in this light hearted show.
There will be plenty of chat, laughter and gossip over breakfast for everyone to enjoy during the 45 minute live show. The Tri Commute will be held over zoom, with the audience at the heart of the action. Guests will be able ask questions, be asked questions and enjoy the banter, as well as have the opportunity to chat with stars from the endurance sport and triathlon worlds.
In the first episode of The Tri Commute, British triathlete Kimberley Morrison joins Joanne and Helen at the virtual breakfast table. Kimberley is well known for her blistering bike splits on the long distance triathlon circuit. The former hockey player was inspired to get into triathlon after reading Chrissie Wellington's "A Life Without Limits' in 2012. She made quick progress as an age group athlete and turned professional in 2015. Since then, has gone on to win multiple Ironman 70.3 titles, break handfuls of bike course records and make her Ironman World Championship debut in 2019. Away from triathlon, she enjoys a game of poker and spends as much time with her Alaskan Malamutes as possible.
Speaking about the new show, Joanne said “Helen and I wanted to work together on a fun project that could utilise our skills in podcasting and hosting live virtual events. The Tri Commute is primarily about spreading a little joy and some sparkle on a Friday morning with a triathlon and endurance sport twist. Lots of people are working from home now, the commute is from the bedroom to another space in the house! So we wanted to give people the chance to have fun on a Friday, connect online with other like-minded people and set themselves up for a positive weekend, no matter what life throws at them.”
Helen said: “When Joanne suggested the idea of a live triathlon show at Breakfast, I didn’t need any convincing. It can be tough watching or listening to the news at the moment, so we thought we’d bring you a fun alternative instead! So whether you’re on the turbo or gearing up for another day working from home, we’ll make sure your Friday gets off to a good start. Feel free to turn up in your Pjs, finest ball gown or triathlon gear, it’s up to you!”
