Mike Reilly, the Voice of IRONMAN has today in a video message shared the news that he plans to hang up his microphone at the end of this year’s race season.

With a career in sports announcing that spans over four decades, Mike Reilly is synonymous with IRONMAN, with triathlon and the endurance sport community. His voice has been the beacon of hope for athletes all over the world who have embarked on their IRONMAN journey of completing a 3.8k swim, 180k cycle and 42.2k run with the aim of hearing those infamous words You Are An IRONMAN, as they cross the finish line.  A phrase that Mike himself coined and is now synonymous with IRONMAN all over the globe. In his heartfelt video Mike shares his reasons for retiring and his planned final events with IRONMAN to end of 2022.

Personal Note: I will be forever grateful to Mike for the opportunity to become an IRONMAN Announcer, to work with him, call him a friend and mentor and become part of the OHANA of announcers around the world. My journey started in September 2011 at IRONMAN 70.3 Galway and it has been an incredible adventure so far. Mahalo Mike  💚
