Shane Finn: Pushing Limits in Endurance Sport

In this sixth episode of the podcast, I chat with 27 year old Shane Finn from Co. Kerry who through his passion, commitment, dedication and focus continues to push his limits not only in sport but in life generally. Shane ran his first marathon at 17 years of age in Dingle, since then he has pursued a busy and active lifestyle of participating in endurance events including marathons and IRONMAN races.

He has also set and completed a number of multi-day endurance challenges which include; 12 marathons in 12 days and 24 marathons in 24 days. Earlier this year he cycled and ran his way across 5,000km in the US from the Golden Gate Bridge in San Fransisco to Brooklyn Bridge in New York. Not only has he completed these personal challenges he has raised over €250,000 for Spina Bifida Hydrocephalus in the process.

In this episode of the show we delve into his adventure across America, the planning, training, logistics and his life on the road during the American tour. The highs the lows and the inspiration to keep moving towards the end goal of reaching Brooklyn Bridge within 36 days.
