On International Women's Day this year we are being encouraged to #choosetochallenge. To challenge ourselves, the status quo and to push beyond the visible and invisible barriers that exist across all aspects of life for women.
'A challenged world is an alert world and from challenge comes change'
We all face challenges in our lives generally, at home, at work, in sport, it's how we react and respond to these challenges that make us who we are and can also shape the world around us, in our homes, communities and in the wider population.
I was delighted to participate in a number of #IWD2021 initiatives this year including a very special webinar with Women For Tri Ambassadors Lyndsey Patterson (UK) and Rebecca Gatang’i (SA) to chat about their experiences as triathletes and how the sport of triathlon has empowered them to not only challenge themselves but to also empower and encourage those around them to follow a passion for triathlon and advocate for women in triathlon.
Let's all #choosetochallenge every day not just on one day of the year and commit to making a positive impact on the lives of the people around us and those who may be further afield.
